Description

The use of Crataegus or, as it is more commonly known, Hawthorn is shrouded in folklore and tradition. Many stories prevail about Crataegus and its deep red fruit borne on spiky shrubs are familiar to many, particularly during the autumn. Crataegus berries are edible and during World War I, Crataegus (Hawthorn) seeds were ground and used instead of coffee. In addition, Hawthorn leaves were used instead of tea and tobacco.
More crucially Hawthorn berries have been used in healthcare as far back as the 15th century and known as a tonic. Alfred Vogel relished eating Crataegus berries as a child and later learnt of their true usefulness as a tincture made from the pulp of the berries.

Benefits:
Valve prolapse, angina, congestive, myocarditis, arteriosclerosis. Hawthorn can normalise blood pressure by regulating heart action; extended use can lower blood pressure. Good for heart muscle weakened by age. Can help strengthen blood vessels, reduce palpitations, help prevent vascular insufficiency, blood clots. Dilates coronary vessels to restore the heart muscle wall. Lowers cholesterol. Good for nervous conditions like insomnia. Aids digestion. Relieves abdominal distention and diarrhoea and food stagnation..

Ingredients:
Tincture of fresh Crataegus oxyacantha (Hawthorn) berries, extracted in alcohol (50%V/V)

Directions:
Adults: 15 - 20 drops three times daily in a little water.
Children: This product is not recommended for children.
