What is infertility?
The inability to conceive after having regular unprotected sex is called Infertility. Alternatively,  the biological inability of an individual to contribute to conception, or to a female who cannot carry a pregnancy to full term. In many countries infertility refers to a couple that has failed to conceive after 12 months of regular sexual intercourse without the use of contraception.

What can be done?
Eating the right foods play an important role in your body's fertility. A balanced diet helps to regulate hormones and nourish your reproductive system. A good diet also helps you to maintain a healthy weight, which can greatly impact fertility. If you are underweight or overweight you may have a harder time becoming pregnant because body fat levels impact the production of sex hormones.

Are there foods I should stay away from?
Alcohol: alcohol can reduce your fertility levels by up to 50%. It can also decrease sperm count and increase the production of abnormal sperm. Caffeine, teas, cola, and chocolate, has been shown to reduce both male and female fertility levels. As little as one cup of coffee a day can cut your chances of conception in half.

Everyday products are filled with synthetic chemicals. Because they are man-made chemicals that do not naturally occur, the body does not know how to deal with them. One group of synthetic chemicals that is responsible for many terrible effects are xenoestrogens.

If ingested, these xenoestrogens affect areas of the body naturally regulated by estrogen which may disturb your balance of hormones. Imbalanced hormones are often the cause of fertility issues.

Should I exercise?
Moderate exercise can also be a good natural fertility treatment. When combined with a balanced and nutritious diet, exercise can help you to maintain a healthy body weight. Excess body fat can increase the amount of estrogen in your body, throwing the female fertility cycle out of balance. Exercise helps to burn off this excess body fat, allowing hormone levels to return to normal. It is best not to overdo exercise though - over exercising can actually impair fertility. Try low impact aerobic workouts like walking, swimming, and cycling.

Acupuncture
This treatment involves the insertion of extremely thin, sterile, disposable needles into specific points on the body to address factors contributing to infertility. The effectiveness of acupuncture is evidenced by its continued use for centuries and more recently by modern clinical trials showing successful results. Acupuncture for fertility is now recognised as the leading treatment for fertility enhancement and has shown success in the following areas
